Bosch Intuvia Display:

A computer and control element: the proven Bosch Intuvia display is easy to read and offers many functions and information to the rider.

The Intuvia display tells the rider: actual, average and maximum speed, day trip and total distance, the time, trip time and total operating time of the bike, and motor performance. The remote control is located on the left of the handlebars and all display features and support modes can be selected safely while driving without taking your hands off the handlebars. The stable display base ensures a secure fit even under tough conditions.

An accurate range indicator displays how far the current charge level will last in mileage. From the remote, the five support modes (Off, Eco, Tour, Sport, Turbo) can be selected or walk-assist can be activated. Display functions can be accessed even when removed from the bike. A micro-USB connector allows you to charge a navigation system, mobile phone, or MP3 player.

Bosch Performance Cruise Drive Unit

The very adictive Performance Cruise motor (60Nm of torque) is a powerful and reliable Pedelec drive system. With legal peak outputs of up to 600 watts of peak output (aka ‘each pedal stroke) and a continuous 250 watts of power it supports the driver up to 25km/h and fully tapers off at 27km/h.

The 3-sensor system detects torque, cadence and speed with 1,000 measurements per second. This information is handled by a powerful processor in almost real time. This extremely fast and precise motor control ensures an extremely sensitive response to pedal input.



Unique Features

Gravity Casting:

The centrepiece of the frame: the motor interface. At this connection point many important functions come together: the engine mount, swing arm and shock mounts, and the battery and downtube connection. The more stable the interface is, the more stable the entire frame is.

We started using a casting process from the motorcycle industry, gravity casting, in 2010. Negative molds are created from compressed sand, filled with aluminum-zinc alloy, and then rotated along precisely calculated axes. Thanks to gravity, there is uniform thickness throughout the casting.

The raw cast aluminum parts are controlled by X-ray analysis and then reworked in a computerized process that ensures a consistently high level of precision, and a finished interface that is low weight and high-strength.


Conventional eBike motors sit low in the frame and run the risk of being damaged by strikes to the underside of your bike. In 2012 we introduced the SkidPlate, a simple protective element that effectively protects the motor from below.

We use a special, impact-resistant plastic that is able to perfectly distribute force and withstand deformation of its shape. Unlike metal, which would bend permanently, plastic springs back to its original state. The paint color conceals scratches and damages, and if necessary the SkidPlate can be replaced easily and inexpensively.

Haibike Integrated Motor Concept (introduced 2015)

The motor is the technological core and defining characteristic of an eBike. Thanks to our Gravity Casting motor interfaces we can integrate the motor in a compact manner without separate mounting plates. This concept reduces the space required to mount the motor and decreases the visual volume of the engine.

The SkidPlate is a useful protective device from a technical perspective, but also allows us to optically integrate the motor to make it part of the frame. Unlike other integration concepts, the motor looks like a natural part of the eBike.

Haibike eLight system (introduced 2013)

Lighting on a bike is an important safety feature and allows you to ride your bike beyond daylight hours. Standard lights are usually quite large, and technically and optically contrast with the character of sporty bikes. We developed the eLight lighting system to create lights that are functional and optically integrated.

Both the front and rear light are designed to be positioned extremely close to the frame so they visually become part of it.

Haibike Step-In Battery Concept

Integrating batteries into frames in both an elegant and technically feasible manner is one of the biggest challenges in the design and engineering of eBikes. Our Step-In Battery Concept proves it is possible.

To reduce the visual “weight, ” we sink the Bosch battery slightly into the downtube. Thanks to the combination of hydroformed tubes and special castings we can dispense with welds and thus eliminate inaccurate attachment points. This technique also reduces the distance between the motor and battery by 11mm.
